Best Wildlife Photos of the Year 2011

The winners in twelve classes of the 2011 British Wildlife Images Awards (BWPAs) have been introduced.

Aiming at honoring proficient wildlife photographers, this 12 months’s competitors attracted 1000’s of photographers throughout the nation and was thought of as “a particular alternative to offer the pure world that surrounds us the popularity, and reverence, it deserves.”

Richard Shucksmith is the 2011 BWPAs total winner along with his images of a jellyfish entitled “Jellyfish within the Blue Sea of Sula Sgeir, Scotland”. He captured the picture at Sula Sgeir, a small uninhabited Scottish island, 41 miles north of Lewis.

This photo also wins the Coast and Marine category
