The winners of the worldwide Journey Photographer of the Yr 2011 competition have been introduced. Particularly, Louis Montrose of San Diego was named the Journey Photographer of the Yr for his portfolio together with spectacular photographs of life in a painted village in Burkino Faso and the Day of the Useless competition in Oaxaca, Mexico. This 12 months’s worldwide panel of judges included journey and wildlife photographer Steve Bloom, Conde Nast’s director of pictures Caroline Metcalfe, and journey photographer Chris Coe amongst many others. This 12 months’s exhibition welcomed over 16,000 guests.

Chosen from 1000’s of entries to win the Journey Photographer of the Yr Award 2011, Louis Montrose‘s photographs helped him win “two putting, and really completely different, portfolios; one documenting life in a painted village in Burkina Faso and the opposite depicting the Dia de los Muertos Competition in Oaxaca, Mexico”. Apparently, the Younger Journey Photographer of the Yr award was 17-year-old German photographer Arne Hansen for his portfolio characterizing the bodily affect of journey on nature whist 17 year-old British photographer, Joel Biddle, took the honors in Younger TPOTY 15-18, and in addition gained the TPOTY/Younger Photographers Alliance Rising Expertise Award, for his summary photographs on the class theme of “inexperienced”. As well as, Italy’s Edgard de Bono gained the New Expertise award. The winner of 2010 worldwide Journey Photographer of the Yr is Larry Louie from Canada.

Louis Montrose receives a £1,000 money bursary, plus Adobe Artistic Suite Design Premium 5.5 and Adobe Photoshop Lightroom three software program and different worthy presents. Furthermore, the general winner can be given a singular private showcase inside the exhibition on the Royal Geographical Society (with IBG) in the summertime of 2012.
